Thank you to 6ABC for highlighting the Neon Museum on their 6ABC Loves the Arts program. Watch the video and read the transcript here.
On March 25, 2021, NMOP founder Len Davidson sat down with Paul Steinke, former manager of the historic market, now director of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, as well as Vinnie Iovine, a longtime Market merchant (Iovine Brothers Produce, Molly Malloys). They took us behind the scenes of Philly’s favorite bastion of mom-and-pop commerce that dates to 1893.
The Museum hosts events related to neon, Philly culture, and roadside America. Special offers are available to members. Become a member today.

Founding Member Paul Steinke’s journey from rowhouse kid to civic leader inspired us. It started when his parents let him ride the Frankford El alone as a young teen. For many years since, the city has reaped the benefits of those trips from the Northeast to Center City.
Paul’s urban explorations gradually evolved into leadership positions with the Center City and University City Districts, and a 13 year stint as GM of Reading Terminal Market. Today, he is Executive Director of the Philly Preservation Alliance and a good friend of NMOP.
Paul was delighted by his Member tour, and particularly impressed by our iconic signs from Pats Steaks, Levis Hot Dogs, Sun Ray Drugs, and H & H. He even made the HoJo Lamplighter sign the home screen on his cell phone.
More than collecting signs, we’re about linking with fascinating Philadelphians in an environment that values art and history. If you share our passion, we hope you’ll become a member, too.
